Dating rules you must break
When it comes to dating, what are the so-called protocols you should toss out?

Men must pay for dinner

Given how evolved social norms and chivalry have muddied the water on who should be picking up the check, gone are the days when men were assumed to be responsible for the tab.

However, some guys think it's ungentlemanly if they don't offer paying.

If he insists, do let him pay -- he's just being gallant. No matter who foots the bill, just don't split it down to the middle, especially on first dates.

My personal thoughts: Ladies, you shouldn't let men pay all the time and its okay to pay once in a while.

It should be more of a give and take thing! I think that its more of "testing market" and we actually wanna see if our date takes the initiative to pay for the bill.

But if your men doesn't wanna pay all the time... then there must be something wrong. LOL!

Don't date your friend's ex

Ditch the old adage that you should never date your friend's old squeeze. If there's chemistry, it's worth the risk. Do a little bit of digging of the story behind their breakup. And make sure there's no longer love connection between them before you begin to fathom a relationship with your love interest.

My personal thoughts: Its never cool to date your bestfriend's ex. There must be a reason why things don't work out between them! I don't know how to really interpret what I feel like saying about this, but really, its just not cool!

There are many fishes out there! *lol*

A woman should never ask a man out

If you're one who shies away from being the initiator, you leave it to the man to do the job. But if you aren't, don't worry about the traditional dating rule which says it's always the man's responsibility to do the asking.

If he freaks out when you do, it just shows that he's probably not for you.

While they love the thrill of chasing, guys would actually appreciate that they don't have to take the plunge all the time.

My personal thoughts: Well.. I would say that if the guy just keeps quiet and goes missing in action after the first date, he probably doesn't have any interest in you.

But if you both have been going on several dates already, its okay to plan and ask him out to somewhere nice!

He'll appreciate that! :')

You can't check out other hotties

Let's be honest -- it's our guilty pleasure. When someone gorgeous crosses our path, we can't help but ogle them. It's not cheating. It's just in our genetic makeup.

If that bothers your significant other, be a little bit more ingenious while checking them out. You don't want to drool over other hunks or babes blatantly while your partner is with you.

But if you catch your partner in the act, your berating will never change him; it'll only show that you feel insecure.

My personal thoughts: Well i don't agree to this! I think that its okay to check out other hotties cause there's always gonna be someone prettier/cuter/handsome-r(okie no such word :P) out there.If he/she is taken aback & it really shows how much of a jealous person he/she is.
Jealousy is bad....

Initiate follow-up only after three days

If you hit it off with your date during the first rendezvous, how long do you wait before doing the follow-up?

There's this golden rule in the dating world which says you should keep in touch only after three days. However, rules are meant to be broken.

If you're into your date, you'd be wondering why he hadn't called or texted.

At least drop a text the next day saying that you had fun with her and would love a second date.

My personal thoughts: 3 days or more should be fine! Have some space to at least make both parties look forward to seeing each other.

If its too soon it'll be boring i guess!

Always be mysterious

While it's good to hold your horses and not reveal all your cards on the first date to keep the attraction flowing, give your love interest a chance to know the real you after that.

However, avoid bragging about your accomplishments or the assets you own. We typically try hard to put our best foot forward when we first date. But after a while, these will tend to vanish -- we'll no longer impress our significant other as much.

So, don't keep her interest level too high at the beginning.

My personal thoughts: Most importantly, be yourself.

Of course everyone wants to give a good impression on a date!

Avoid talking about your ex on a date

If you wish to start over with a clean slate, you should never treat your past relationships as a taboo subject. Talk about it when your date initiates the topic (if he ever does) but never get emotional or start trashing your old flame.

He'll think that he's just your rebound guy.

If you avoid it, he'd probably think that you're still hung up on your ex.

My personal thoughts: You should only come to this topic if the our date asks about it!

And remember, never give out too much detail! Heh!

Had a great TGIF shopping with mum and sister at town today!

Its been so long since i last pamper myself with clothes! *happy girl for a minute*

I've slowed down on headbands, earrings, shoes(I NEED TO) some time back(some of you must have wondered.. how some time back is that.. *lol*)

My mission for this month: $AVE MONEY$$$$

*keeps fingers crossed*

Anyways school is starting this coming monday and i'm so not looking forward towards it.

Most of my classmates & good friends are posted to IPP(attachment) whereas im all alone doing FYP.

What can I say, just my luck.

Im assigned to 'Static code analysis of J2EE/.Net projects using Fortify Tools' for my FYP project and for god knows how much I really hate codings.

Programming and me is like a mismatch made in heaven.

I will try and try to get it right but at the end of the day it just can't stay in my brain.
Why?
Cause of no interest. and maybe also cause im dumb :/

Wanted to try my luck asking my mentor to swap me, but then i got lazy and i didn't even bother asking.

Serve me right.

P/S: Its September 3rd today... Hmm.

I have this very bad habit of overspending on too many unnecessary stuffs.

I think I bought *counts in my head* 9 pairs of wedges this year and 4 pairs of my wedges are rotting at home.

I've only used 2 of those pairs once, and the other 2 pairs is hiding in my room under my bed. *lol*

I think my dad will kill me if he sees them in my room. Scawee~ (not!)

Mum says that i gotta control myself from having the urge to buy something everytime I go out & my sister keeps telling me that the devil is around me all the time asking me to buy this and that.

But shopping does release stress sometimes y'know? I bet most of the girls out there would agree to this statement!

Shall get my beauty sleep right now, catch me next time!

So everyone's talking about the headlines of Mr Dr Tony Tan becoming the new president.

Me and family all voted for him and our gut feeling says that he's gonna win it fo sho and also cus he seem to be the hot favourite among all.

Congrats Dr Tony! :')

I don't get it why some singaporeans are so worked up on him winning the title.

In Singapore the one that has more power is the Prime Minister so who cares if who wins as the President?

As what people always say, the president is just the "puppet".

So yeah people, get over it. Its over.

So moving on..

Send my bibik back to Indonesia for 10days as she wanted to celebrate Hari Raya at her own country this year.

So from now till 8th September im the new maid in the house. (NOT)

I've helped to clean up my room, wash my own plate, fold clothes, but not ironing clothes.

Im always afraid to iron the clothes sometimes cus i once iron my dad's hari raya baju and it burnt into a big hole. My bad!

Been wanting to do a proper update but i was taken aback by some things.

Reason No.1 - I have a stalker who knows everywhere i go, with whoever i go, just
name anything and everything.
And it really drives me up the wall sometimes!

Had sucha Great & Awesome TGIF catch up with my BFF after like forever!

My current fascination over macarons, boy was it good!

So far i've tried macarons from Carousel, Bakerzin, another one at novena(I forgot the name of the shop) but Canele has the best macarons so far!!

I still have yet to try the ones at delifrance which comes in 30pieces but its always out of stock(!!) Grr.

We had 12 flavours to choose from and I asked which ones had liquor in it cus I wouldn't wanna consume it but the waiter that served us said that only Begamot has liqour.

I was kinda taken aback too at first cus previously when i bought at the other outlet the waiter told me another thing.

I asked the person serving us over and over again and he convinced me that the waiter at the other outlet must have got mixed up and he certainly would inform them. (ahhhhh, he'll go to hell if he's lying! *lol~)

Alot of my peeps have been asking me where to get Marcarons cus i keep tweeting and talking about it all the time, and so here i am sharing a quick entry about it!!

Carousel has the biggest macarons I think! Its $12.30 for 5 macarons including gst :}

And also all are halal! *lol*

I would eat it all by myself muahahahah :D

You can also get it at Canele, its near to Shaw House! There's also another outlet at Paragon for dine-in only :) Its yours at $2.50 each! :D

And also, there's liqour in some of them! (Thank God I asked first ;p)

i gotta admit that i do have a sweet tooth! :>

Also, you can grab em' even in the neighbourhood at Bakerzin & Break Talk!! Bakerzin's macarons comes in bite-size!

And also, the disadvantage about Bakerzin's macaron is that you can't choose the flavours!

What you see is what you get *heh*

I would love to learn how to make one cus i love eating it so much, but then i know its alot of work and if one day i'm an expert, i'll definitely bake for you-don't-wanna-know-who the heart shape size! *tee hee!*

I consider myself a food lover but one thing for sure is that my tummy can't take in too much food :S

I'll have to skip my breakfast in the morning(well it doesn't make much of a difference as im always up during lunch hour)

And so we decided to have lunch at Tiffany's! :D

When I tweeted saying i was gonna have lunch at tiffany's, some teased me asking if it was Tiffany & Co -.-

If you're wondering where's this awesome(i'll get there soon) place is, its at Furama Hotel near Chinatown!

I've probably never eaten so much in any other place, but the food here's really good!

And talking about desserts, i was totally blown away.

Finally, after so many months coming to BeBe store at ion orchard, i finally settled for this pair.

This is probably my first 'slipper wedge' that i've spend so much on and i never regretted doing so~

My dad would totally scream and probably cut my allowance money if I told him i got this for *whisper tone* 80bugs bunny :}

But my mummy's the best, she told me if i really like it i should just get it!

That's why i love her to bits & pieces, teehee!

At first i kinda felt the pinch, but i've always had this mindset;

The slipper would probably last (at least for 2 years lets say)

2 years = 80

1 year(12 months) = 80 ÷ 2 = 40

1 month(30 days) = 40 ÷ 12 = 3.33

1 day = 3.33 ÷ 30 = 0.11¢

Yes, im only paying 0.11¢ a day for something i like :)

Here are the Top15 who made it through after the voting round with the photoshoot at Sentosa!

We were told to report as early as 7am in the morning :/

We were told not to put on any makeup or spray on our hair and we were told that there would be a make up artist to fix our hair & apply make up for us, but they pull themselves out at the last hour.

Lucky for me, it wouldn't make much of a difference cus i rather apply my own make up cus sometimes .... *okay i rather not say that ;P)

1 week before the competition, the Top15 girls & guys had to go for an interview and that will determine if we made it to the Top10 semi finals.

Im delighted I made it through!

Before i begin, firstly, I would like to thank those who made their time on a Friday (December 18 2010) which was suppose to be their TGIF, to come down all the way to SCAPE to support me for my pageant competition Semi Finals!

Not only that, they had to come out with their own money (that's 10bugs bunny) to support me cus each ticket is entitled to one vote for the female contestants, and the male contestants!

Apart from that, they had to stand on their two feets for almost 3hours!

Thats mad tiring i can tell!

Well, at the same time, I was also "testing market" to see who was willing to come down cus they'll have to fork out 10 bucks, and i know it'll be a pain to just waste something like that.

But oh well, it doesn't really matter after all.

I know Singing is not really my talent, but im left with no choice cus theres nothing else that i can perform.

My friends always tell me im a drama queen and I wanted to act at first, but mommy says i'll look retarded if i was talking alone to myself.

I can also do malay dance or contemporary dance but I haven't been dancing since secondary school! :/

I was the 16th person to choose the numbers of the box, and I had limited choices, and so i settled for the number 17!

At this point of time i was praying and hoping that i can answer the question!

My question was "Persistence"

And i had to explain and define the meaning persistence.

I was so nervous and my voice was so soft lah!

I dont know why my voice just couldn't come out at that point of time, arghh! D:

A few months back, I was in a GeneratioNYP competition.

If you're wondering what is GeneratioNYP, well, it is Nyp's first ever Miss/Mr NYP.

At first, I was kinda reluctant cus I knew I wasn't gonna make it far & my self-esteem was just... low.

I'm really glad to have the support from my family, my lovely cousins, my awesome friends & most of all, I had the FULL SUPPORT from my Mum.

My mommy have been sponsoring me with all my dresses, my tops & bottoms, my shoes, and all my acessories just for this competition.

Thanks mom for going all out with me on this one! XX

I was called by one of the GeNyp organizers saying that I was one of the 30 girls shortlisted to be in competition.

I was kinda taken aback and was having alot of mix feelings cus I know that somehow this journey was never gonna be easy.

The first part to this competition was through voting by 'liking' our photos on facebook.

The top15 with the most number of likes would make it to the next round!

I secured my position with 1023 votes! *yippie*

Thank you to all who have 'like' my photo, but i must say that somehow i feel that this is kinda unfair too.

(well, im not gonna say anything more about it cus some might not agree with me, so yeah ;P)

If you've followed me on my twitter, you'd probably know wheres my favourite dine-in restaurant.. & thats SWENSENS!

I go Swensens at least once every month whenever im feeling stress, depressed(Over school work only), whenever its TGIF, and also during my family members or BFF's birthday!(Every Jan, May, June & Dec)

Its always Swensen Swensen & Swensen that most of my classmates & friends now know where to stalk me.

Decided to tryout the Swensens Ice Cream Buffet thats held in Orchard Ion only.

Me and sister made sure not to make our stomach too full so that we can eat as much ice cream as we want later on.

and look at the long queue!

We waited for almost an hour to get in and it really made us bored to death.

And so.. what do girls do when they're bored? They camwhore. Yes. Thats what we did too :]

So you can skip this part.. Don't say I didn't warn you!! :D

Did ya'all realise whenever its last week of the month, or middle week of the month, most restaurants, food outlets are always full house pack? I think it must be pay-day thats why everyone's out celebrating!

So after waiting and waiting they finally let us in!

We were so excited already just by looking at the different ice cream flavours!

(But lemme warn you not all taste as good as it look okay!)

I think I'll cry in Day 1.

So basically, this is our first serving of the day.

2nd Serving.

Last Serving.

Well I guess that's what practically i had there.

Some of my friends asked If I would recommend them here..

And I would say, if you love sweet stuffs, ice cream, then go for it!

But to waste $18.90++(7% GST & 10% Service tax per pax not included) If you're someone like me who has a small stomach, then I think you would rather buy yourself a big tub of ice cream and eat it all by yourself~

Cus how much Ice Cream can one consume within a day?

The more you force yourself to eat it, the more you'll feel like throwing up already.

I'd rather go for food buffet if you were to ask me to choose.

But oh well, it is a good once in a while experience..

And i only spend an hour there.

Cus was kinda rushing for time before the shop closes cus im gonna do some shopping!

I think that I this is like the perfect charm that describes myself except that the centre charm should be a hairband instead :D

(P/S: I have a number of bracelet charms from guess, tiffany & co, forever 21, river island etc but i always forget to wear em' out all the time! ZzZzZ!)

I will always bring along my lipgloss whenever Im out (cus that's what Barbie did hehehehe :D)

& just in case if any of you are wondering, that is not a red lipstick.

wanted to try a slightly darker tone and the colour is strawberry!

My fairy god-mother told me im gonna marry a king someday.

And yes, im gonna be a Queen someday. (In my dream *winks*)

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later.

Then he saw another bigger one... But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.

So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "...this is love... You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person...."

I was never really a fan of American Idol until this 10th season.

One of the reason that im even watching was cos maybe the beautiful Jennifer Lopez was the judging panel & also cuz' of Chris Medina's performance during the auditions that touched millions of hearts out there.

And of course, mine.

If you haven't catch it, please do. If you didn't feel anything after watching this, you'd probably have no feelings.

Its good to know that guys like this do exist. Not everyone would do the same what he did to his fiancee.

Alot of respect to this gentleman here.

My dad always tell me to say a prayer everytime before I leave the house, cuz' we never know what may happen in the day, and anything can happen within split seconds.

Its scary how an accident can change ones life forever, and if only you're really dead, I'm sure life would be alot easier.

But what if you have to suffer for the rest of you life?

Oh dear god, do protect me & my loved ones from all the disaster all the time.

I think I can safely say that this is probably the best season ever!

They totally made the right choice when choosing the judges for American Idol.

Steven Tyler is also uberly sweet, and I just love the way JLO talks. She really speak well of other people.

The only thing that made me hate watching the show is cuz' it made me so emotional sometimes.

[Psssssst.. Im usually not sentimental okay, but sometimes it really touched my heart & I had to fight hard from letting my tears stream down.]

And this made me so upset too!

Pardon me for this boring entry, but I just feel like sharing it with ya'all out there!

And hey, look at JLO, guys surely go gaga everytime when lookin' at her!

Went out with bbygirl to 'celebrate' the fact that our paper's OVER!

We totally needed that!

Caught my first M18 show after 18years & 9 months! (don't laugh!!)

The only movie i caught that was in NC16 was don't mess with the zohans lol!

Decided to catch No Strings Attached and boyyyyyy.. .. .. It took me 18 years to realise how good looking Ashton Kutcher was. He so totally have the charm & now i geddit why girls just admire him so much.

The show was really hilarious & I was laughing really hard but at the same time, some scenes were really disturbing!

(i was so embarassed{I REALLY WAS} but luckily i went to watch with maddie! would have totally blushed if i was with someone else man!)

look at what he gave her for VDAY! cos she said no flowers please.

& oh, please, don't let kids watch the movie. They uttered to many 'F' word.(i personally hate that. I would never say that word no matter how mad i was)

But anyways,

If you are feeling romantic.. just go & watch this movie already..!!
*giggles*

And so I had a really good time with bbygirl MaddieLyn(i created this hehe),

always glad to have you around, and you really made 2years of my poly life a memorable one despite - (...........will tell ya when i meet ya ;))

We'll always be in touch even though we're going to different specialization next sem!

Im gonna miss ya oh so dearly!

As promised, I said that I would continue blogging again provided IF i get the motivation from my friends & readers(I definitely think that some of you out there thought that this blog here probably was long ago dead, or probably extinct)

Hi there!

Can ya'all believe it.. Its just a few more weeks till its RAYE!

Im pretty excited as always for raye cuz... theres ka-ching!!! heh...heh...heh okay im just kidding of course!

But first its the exams!

This year, my baju raya will be both in PINK!

At first mum already bought the fabric for us but its and the shade of pink that i wanted!

and our clothes are all tailor-made cos nowadays the ready-made clothes are not that nice!!(really lor)

and even if its nice and eye-catching, it costs like a BOMB!

Anyways, look at what i tweeted!!

I shall calculate how much I've spend for all these nonsence too!

I've been wearing this same old hair clip since i was sec2(14 yrs old)

Im 18 already now! I've been wearing it for almost 4 years now most of the bedazzles are gone!!

And so its about time I get a new one for me!

Im so lucky I found it cos it was the only one left in Pink somemore!!

I feel so exclusive~! HEHH *roll eyes*

And for lipgloss, I dont know why i LOVE buying different types of lipgloss whenever i go out.

Its like, i dont know, i just like.

Guess I watch too much Barbie shows cos they have so many lipsticks in different shades!

But Im not that bold to use dark colours for now. I love the ones with glitters!!

NYP FASHION SHOW @ MSC STUDIO

People keep asking me whats the nyp fashion show all about and therefore i decided to make an entry about it!

A few weeks back, some of the nyp students did a Fashion Show @ Nyp's New MSC Studio that was organised by the School of Business.

To be honest, I was kinda reluctant to do the catwalk at first cuz I've always had this stage fright or nervous feeling in me whenever Im on stage or on a runway.

Im sure ppl will be like, "errr this girl so totally can't be a model" or.. "this girl so ugly why get chosen uh???" or... "so short ah she PUIII" or .. etc.

HAHA!

I remember doing catwalking for my primary school in pri 4 and I didn't smile at all cos I was soooooooooooo nervous!!

But when I was in secondary school I was more then happy to represent the class to do a catwalk coz they chose me hehehehe!

I think I have the courage to be standing on stage proudly after so many times of practices and competitions of contemporary dance, jazz dance, and also malay dance in my primary and secondary school days!!!

And back to my story..

After days of rehearsals, [I even had to come back school when school's ended just for the rehearsals!] at the end of the day, I made some new friends and they're such fun ppl to be around with!!

There were also some foreign exchange student!

Two of them were from France and the other one im not too sure though!

Anyways, overall it was sucha great experience!

Didn't know i would even pluck out the courage cos i've always been a shy introvert.[ya right hehehehe]

There were 2 sections, 1 was the sports wear and the other was the casual wear.

I was in sportswear.

To be honest, all that im wearing is MINE except for the shirt.

Its been so long since I last blog, yes I've missed it so much!

Anyways, i've decided to private all my previous posts.

I think its not needed anymore cos its the past. & i dont wana look back and regret.

As cliche as it sounds, time passes by, people change.

Of cos we have to change the way we live..

It can't remain constant all the time right? We all want to look forward to something.
